SPECIAL -The expansion of a local friendship centre will improve the quality of life for Aboriginal people living in the Midland area and create seven jobs.
Through the Friendship Centre Infrastructure Program, Ontario is supporting the expansion of the Georgian Bay Native Friendship Centre.
This will ensure the centre can continue delivering vital programs and services to the local Aboriginal community, such as after-school activities for youth, pre-natal classes, cultural workshops and employment training.
Investing in Ontario's infrastructure is part of the government's plan to build a stronger economy, support families and create new jobs.
"Our government and the Ontario Federation of Indian Friendship Centres continue to work together to ensure that Friendship Centres have the capacity to continue to deliver much needed programs and services to Aboriginal people and families living in urban areas.
